Retired Americans Action Invests More Than $1 Million to Reach Older Voters in Key House Battlegrounds
Campaign targets older voters, a critical voting bloc in six closely watched House races
Washington, DC - Today, Retired Americans Action is announcing it has invested more than $1 million in digital ads aimed at older voters, a crucial voting block in the 2026 midterm elections. The ads will run in six key battleground House districts, including AZ-06, MI-04, NM-02, OH-07, PA-07 and PA-10.
Voters over the age of 65 comprise 25% or more of the electorate in each of these districts.
The ads in PA-07, OH-07, and AZ-06 feature older voters criticizing Reps. Ryan Mackenzie, Max Miller, and Juan Ciscomani’s misplaced priorities, particularly their votes to weaken Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. In PA-10, the ad calls out Rep. Scott Perry’s history of votes to raise the retirement age and slash Social Security benefits.
In NM-02, the ad highlights Rep. Gabe Vasquez’s strong record on retirement security issues, contrasting it with his opponent Greg Cunningham saying his “number one” priority would be the national Republican agenda. In MI-04, the ad highlights a bill authored by Rep. Bill Huizenga that puts the future of Social Security and Medicare into the hands of a 16-person commission with power to slash the earned benefit programs.
"Older voters turn out at the highest rates, particularly in midterm elections,” said Richard Fiesta, Treasurer of Retired Americans Action. "We are arming voters in these critical districts with the facts so they can choose the candidate who will protect their retirement security and the benefits they worked a lifetime to earn.”
In addition to the ads running in these House races, Retired Americans Action is already running a nearly $1 million independent expenditure ad in the Ohio Senate race. The ad focuses on Sen. John Husted’s vote against legislation to stop a controversial Medicare program that uses artificial intelligence to determine whether a treatment will be covered.
